Hola a todos!! Continuamos con este proyecto de la escala pequeña y ya que estaba casi todo pintado, es hora de ir pegando piezas. Empezamos por el eje delantero y el motor:
Hello everyone! We’re continuing with this small-scale project, and since almost everything is painted, it’s time to start gluing pieces. We’ll begin with the front axle and the engine:
En el eje delantero, la complicación fue el poner la barra estabilizadora ya que el fotograbado es muy fino, y para facilitar su colocacoón, eliminé dos patillas muy finas de la base por donde se tenía que introducir. Otro problema fueron los muelles, que al ser grandes, había que comprimirlos mucho. Mi opción fue recortarlos. Del resto, todo es fácil y no tiene complicaciones:
On the front axle, the tricky part was fitting the stabilizer bar, as the photo-etched details are very thin. To make it easier to install, I removed two very thin tabs from the base where it had to be inserted. Another problem was the springs, which, being large, had to be compressed a lot. My solution was to shorten them. Otherwise, everything is easy and straightforward.
En el motor, el bloque se pintó con gris metálico LP de Tamiya. Una vez seco, se pintó el anagrama de Ford de las tapas de las válvulas, con el rotulador cromo de AK, tanto las letras como su entorno. Se enmascararon con cinta de Tamiya y se pinto con negro semimate acrilico XF18 de Tamiya. El motivo de este color es porque después, con un bastón mojado en disolvente X20A, se fue pasando por las letras de Ford, poco a poco, hasta que apareció el color cromado:
On the engine, the block was painted with Tamiya LP metallic gray. Once dry, the Ford logo on the valve covers was painted with an AK chrome marker, both the letters and the surrounding area. It was masked off with Tamiya tape and painted with Tamiya XF18 semi-matte acrylic black. This color was used because later, with a stick dipped in X20A thinner, the Ford lettering was gradually rubbed over it until the chrome color appeared.
Y era el momento de poner las calcas. Para ello, primero pego los dos flaps delanteros a la carrocería con ciano:
And it was time to apply the decals. To do this, I first glued the two front flaps to the body with cyanoacrylate glue:
Y después, voy poniendo las poquitas calcas que trae el kit, fijandome mucho que queden en sus posiciones correctas, sobre todo al mismo nivel en los dos lados:
And then, I start applying the few decals that come with the kit, making sure they are in their correct positions, especially at the same level on both sides:
En la parte trasera, también hay una calca gris, en la que hay que hacer coincidir los agujeros existentes:
On the back, there is also a gray decal, where the existing holes must be aligned:
En el alerón trasero, la unica calca es fácil ponerla mientres esté centrada:
On the rear wing, the only decal is easy to apply as long as it’s centered:
Para los logos de lso neumaticos, utilicé el liquido extra fuerte de Tameo. Una pincelada en la rueda, colocas la calca bien puesta y lo dejas sin tocar. Se adapta a la base perfectamente. Y no se debe tocar porque la tocarlo, se deshace la calca hasta que se seca competamente.
For the tire logos, I used Tameo’s extra-strong adhesive. A quick brush on the wheel, then position the decal correctly and leave it undisturbed. It adheres perfectly to the base. And you shouldn’t touch it because if you do, the decal will disintegrate until it dries completely.
Y lçogicamente, hay que verlo todo junto!!
And logically, it all has to be seen together!!
Para terminar, os muestro como marqué los discos de freno para que estuvieran usados: puse adhesivo de doble cara en una muela del minitaladro, y mientras giraba, le fui pasando una lima de diamante:
Finally, I’ll show you how I marked the brake discs to make them look worn: I put double-sided adhesive on a grinding wheel of the mini drill, and while it was rotating, I ran a diamond file over it:
